Myanmar, once known as Burma, sits in ruins after the devastation from the cyclone that hit on Saturday. The government refuses to let the aid in from the rest of the world. Bogalay, once populated of over 190000 people has lost 95% of their homes. People have no food or water to sustain them and the government will not help.

Aid from all over the world is waiting outside Myanmar for the go ahead to disperse necessary food, water and medical supplies. The Myanmar government says no. Why are they so unwilling to help their own people? Their own citizens are going about aimlessly waiting for their government to step in and help. But no help is arriving.

This may not be as big as tsunami level, but there are millions of people stranded with not food, water or medical attention. Thousand are lost and dead. And the world sets by helplessly waiting for the go ahead to bring much needed supplies in.

This is not political. This is people needing help and others willing to give it. No strings attached. Things may be tough worldwide but we still have not lost our humanitarianism. When a country goes through such devastation, everyone sets politics aside and puts people first.

As the days go by people more people are going to die without the basic life supports they need. How many people is the Myanmar government willing to sacrifice on principle? These include families with small children and babies. The elderly cannot wait long for medical treatment as well. With more than $10 million promise from outside governments, what does Myanmar want to happen?

It appears much of the coastline has disappeared from the 12 foot tidal wave that swept the coast after the cyclone. This is land that is now owned by the sea. Where are the bodies that it has spit back? Surely the Myanmar government is not big enough to handle all that needs doing by themselves.

Myanmar, please let the world help!
